Health Watch: The Game Changers

I recently watched a health documentary which I found to be very informative called The Game Changers. If you get a chance, instead of chucking on your normal television programme, put this on and it may just change your outlook on health.


The documentary initially focusses on professional athletes but then expands and details the many potential benefits of the diet on your health and performance. The information provided in the documentary is backed up with scientific evidence which is detailed as you progress through the documentary.


I would thoroughly recommend the documentary which lasts around 1 hour and 20 minutes.

The take home messages from the documentary:


- Vegetables are full of good, high quality protein which your body can use with amazing effects so you don't need meat in your diet to get stronger, contrary to popular belief


- Some of the most successful athletes around the world have increased their performance by switching to a plant based diet


- Cardiovascular conditions are mainly formed through an individual's diet and a plant based diet was incredibly effective at lowering cardiovascular risk


- If everyone switched to a plant-based diet - the planet would be much healthier, with less land being used for farming


- Our anatomy suggests that humans are not built to eat meat


- Everyone practicing the plant-based diet in the documentary looked incredibly healthy!


As ever, if you're going to give plant-based a go, as its a drastic change, its important to do some research beforehand to make sure you will continue to get a full range of the healthy nutrients your body needs to function. Also, its worth running ideas by your GP first too to make sure its appropriate for your individual case!


As with anything, don't judge anything too early, trial it and see and you may just find that you could gain massive benefits, even from something as simple as eating vegetables!


I certainly will be giving it a go to see what happens.
