Consistent looking at screens can have a huge effect on our physical & mental health. While looking at screens can be a fast fix for boredom, it can interrupt our normal thought processes & also lead to physical inactivity.
1) Normally, if youâre looking at a screen youâre sat down & that means you're moving less throughout the day, meaning you're burning less calories through your daily movements
2) Looking at screens before bed can have a detrimental impact on your sleep & can keep your mind active when its meant to be winding down. It can be difficult, but its best to leave your screens 30 â 60 mins before bed
3) Watch out for the content you're looking at, some can have negative effects on your body & mind. Thereâs plenty of good, useful content out there & finding it just begins with a search
Goal 1ïžâŁ: Keep a tab on your screen time. If you feel itâs getting consistently too much, too often, you can use your phone settings & give you a little reminder for when youâre overusing
Goal 2ïžâŁ: Do something while you're looking at your screen. Have a stretch, get on an exercise bike, or do something that will help you / someone else tomorrow
Goal 3ïžâŁ: Unfollow / uninstall any timewasters & search for some good, productive, interesting content that will help you / someone else out in the future
Goal 4ïžâŁ: Set an alarm each day at 9:30pm to turn off your screens for the day
Goal 5ïžâŁ: If its past 9:30pm while youâre reading this, place your phone down
Think about your day, what went well?
What could have gone better?
Whatâs the plan tomorrow?
Have a stretch
Do some deep breathing
Relax.
See how you go, every little helps & everythings worth a try
Your body will thank you for it!
